HESI A2 Overview

The HESI exam is given by nursing schools as a means to assess whether an applicant has the basic knowledge they need to succeed in nursing school. This test is also called the HESI A2 or HESI Admission Assessment Exam.

It is one of many tests used to grant admission to nursing schools. Make sure to call your chosen nursing school to be sure you are studying for the test it requires. Also, schools vary in the number of HESI exam sections they require for admission. Many do not include the physics section. Visit your schools website or contact the admissions office in order to determine which sections you should study for.

You will get your test results in print from the proctor at the end of your test. Depending on your nursing school, you may be able to retake the test after a waiting period. Check with your school for their requirements.

The cost for taking the HESI exam can range anywhere from $35 to $70. Costs vary at each testing site and you should contact your chosen location for details on this. There is a retesting fee if you need to take it more than once, so we recommend using our course to properly prepare for the exam the first time around.
